Popular Non-Surgical Treatment

What is Botox?

Botox is an incredibly popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment injected into the skin that can be used to temporarily lessen the appearance of moderate and severe facial wrinkles, fine lines and crow's feet. With numerous peer-reviewed clinical trials, Botox Cosmetic is a product you can trust. It is the only approved treatment in 78 different countries! Botox targets the underlying causes of frown lines and crow's feet with a quick and painless injection. Most patients hardly feel anything more than a small pinch and are able to go about their day as normal right after!

What does it do?

How does Botox Work?

In order for muscles to contact, the nerves release a chemical messenger of neurotransmitter right where the nerve endings meet the muscle's cells. This neurotransmitter attaches to the receptors on the muscle cells and cause them to contract and make the muscle move. Botox works by preventing this neurotransmitter from reaching the muscle's cells, relaxing the muscle and, therefore, reducing the appearance of those wrinkles and lines that come from repeated muscle use. Even if you don't have wrinkles yet, you may still benefit from Botox! Starting treatment before those wrinkles and fine lines form can actually limit their development and reduce the treatments that might be needed later on.

What Should You Expect?

Botox Results

It roughly takes anywhere between twenty four to seventy two hours for botox to take effect. However, the area will continue to improve in appearance for about two weeks. How long Botox lasts can be different for everyone. The longevity of the effects depend on the area treated, how much was injected and each unique individual.. Generally, it will gradually wear off over the next three to four months or so which makes repeat appointments particularly important to achieve and maintain that youthful glow. With continued and consistent treatments, the effects of Botox can increase. This is due to the gradual relaxing of the muscles. The less active the muscles are, the less they work to create those wrinkles and fine lines.
